Breaking from their traditional sale on March 17th, 3 Floyds Brewery has decided to put their Dark Lord tickets up for sale on Saturday, March 19th. At what time? We don’t know, midday we are told. Here are things that aren’t working in my favor for Dark Lord 2011.
1) I have a wedding shower on Saturday, March 19th at 3pm. I’ll have to take my laptop home with me and hope to get tickets or purchase them through my Blackberry.
2) I will be on my honeymoon on Dark Lord Day, which is April 30th.
Apparently, the beer gods didn’t work in my favor. I’ll figure it out though.
Hoosier Beer Geek posted a nice article with Barnaby Struve, 3 Floyds head brewer about their recent changes for the events, what to do about the massive crowd and over flowing toilets. A pretty good read that get’s straight to the point about why they needed to change and why they made their choices. Not everyone is happy with their decisions, but I think they are going in the right direction. 3 Floyds has grown tremendously over the past few years, its simple supply and demand. The demand is high, supply is small. I’ve been to their facility a handfukl of times, it is smaller than most, but they make up for it in beer quality.

If I get my tickets Saturday (which I fully believe I will), I will have a bottle of DL waiting for you upon your return. It’s something every beer lover should try.
